Automated Lineage

Visualize your data assets from source to consumption.

You will be able to see the visual representation of your data which are your upstream and downstream assets via relationships between associated columns. You can access the lineage of your table by navigating to the Lineage tab under each table's Asset Details.

Lineage in Decube is automatically generated based on the metadata ingestion completed on your connected data sources.

The lineage is a great way for your teams to see the downstream impact of incidents that may have been triggered by our Data Quality module.

Column-to-column lineages

Column-to-column lineages are supported within the Lineage tab if there are any applicable lineage relationships.

See details from a lineage relationship

To see how the lineage relationship was added, click on any line connecting the lineage nodes. A sidebar on the right will show where the lineage was derived from, either from an ETL job, SQL query etc.

Add lineage relationships manually

For lineage relationships that are not added automatically in the Catalog, they can be added manually through the Approval Workflow. Check it out in the link below.

Lineage mapping for transformation tools

If you have connected your transformation tools like dbt or Fivetran, you will be able to see the lineage from different sources to destinations within decube directly.

However, you will need to do some configuration first on the dbt connection, check out the guide below.
