# Preview sample data

{% hint style="info" %}
The Preview feature is **opt-in** because displaying sample data egresses data from your table. Decube **does not cache sample data** from this preview.
{% endhint %}

To view sample data for a specific table, go to the table in the Catalog and open the **Preview** tab.

The platform displays 10 rows of sample data from your table. Any columns marked as *PII* or *Sensitive* in the [Schema tab](/catalog/add-tags-and-classifications-to-fields.md) are automatically masked, preventing sensitive data from being exposed to other organization members.

To run the preview, select **Accept** under the disclaimer.

{% hint style="info" %}
To run the preview, you will need access to "Allow run preview" for the data source selected. [Learn about source-based policies.](/group-access-policies/source-based-policies.md)
{% endhint %}
